Touhou Overview and Avatars

It's taken me several long days of work, but I've finally finished this little project of mine. A fairly long description is to come, but please read! There's much more to this submission than a gif image.


If you've ever been curious what this whole "Touhou" thing is, but were hesitant to dive into the ocean of characters and their broad personalities and backgrounds ranging from official biographies to fandom-given traits, then here you go!

I've created the above page to give a brief overview/summary of my interpretations and impressions of each character (which may slightly vary with those of other Touhou fans). If you haven't explored the awesome that is Touhou music, I've also included each characters' in-game theme, plus some of my favorite remixes of said themes as well. And so that one can easily match a name and theme to a face, I've also illustrated quick BSL-esque faces of each character to go alongside each mini-profile.


The animated gif shown above is a peek at what one can find under the Download File button: a zip file containing an avatar for virtually every character from the Windows Touhou games (plus some from the PC98 games), each at 125x125 resolution with transparent backgrounds. Feel free to use them! Edit in your own background, shrink it down, add borders, compile several faces into one icon, or just pick an image and use it as-is! The only thing I'd ask for in return is that if anyone asks where you got the picture or asks who made it, please refer them back to this deviation.
